Talamanca has now a female soccer team in the first division

We are proud to announce that our beautiful town of Puerto Viejo, Talamanca has now a female soccer team in the first division. They will be playing in the National Championship as well as the Cup tournament. Go girls!! The whole town is supporting all of you.

“We see soccer as a vehicle for personal growth for each of the participants. In addition, it will help us in the region to promote gender equality,” commented Kimberly Lindo, president of the team.

The club’s founder, Ben Abdelkader, highlighted the expectation that this initiative will also provide an opportunity for tourism to flourish in the region.
“We hope that the arrival of the team will also help tourism grow,” he concluded.
Although the team will debut in the Cup tournament this month, our main objective lies in competing in the national tournament that begins in March.
