Overview

This is a property that is hard to put into words how magnificent it is. Not only for its history and cultural impact in the community but  also for the love, passion and sacrifice this family have done through many years in order to create this unique business.

A cacao plantation that was abandoned and came back to live thanks to family efforts to preserve it, and it is alive as of today.

5 and half hectares of property and only a small piece is used to grow cacao, bananas, plantains and other tropical fruit. Visitors can walk through the internal hiking trails and enjoy the beauty of its plantation and part of the farm.

A cacao expert roasts the cacao beans using ancestral techniques and show the visitors how the whole process is done and let them participate of a lifetime experience. It has an area for people to sit down and participate of the process. On the back side of this area there are several machines that were used many years ago and are on display type museum. The pure organic cacao product that has been roasted is selling at the reception area.

A reception area, sitting area and industrial kitchen receives the visitors for educational group tours. A small antique shed where used to have farm animals like goats and pigs. It is empty and not in use at the moment.

Gorgeous mature gardens and lots of different plants have been planted throughout the property that attracts hummingbirds, butterflies as well as monkeys and an array of different birds.

A two bedroom 2 story farm house is within the property as well as a traditional indigenous house with a display of antiques that have been collected and preserved through the years.

There are many uses for this farm, I see it as an educational farm that can bring volunteers to keep learning about the process and also bungalows can be built for guest to spend the night. There is a huge swimming pool that needs to back to live. It is not in use at the moment.

It can be converted into a non profit self sustainable farm that many people can live in and all participate in farming and selling the cacao.

The sellers would like for the new owner to preserve the farm and continue their family legacy and also for the farm to employ locals and provide more jobs to the community so any buyer with that vision will be the perfect fit for this property.

The Cahuita National Park and Puerto Vargas are only at 7 minutes drive North the beach town of Puerto Viejo is only at 10 minutes drive. many tourists ride a bike from town and go to this property currently operating as a Cacao tour destination.
